Wild animals in circuses in Europe.

Thanks to 1 million citizens calling for action for wild animals in circuses, the European Parliament (EP) today discussed the subject in plenary for the very first time. The position of the European Commission does not conflict with the EP's request for action. However, the debate showed a wave of political support to end the suffering of wild animals used in entertainment, and consideration of the demands of the public and civil society.
